Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Yangon

Upon arrival at Yangon, check into your hotel. A uniformed host will invite you a welcome drink and collect your tour program from our tour guide. Sightseeing starts with the famous world-renowned pagoda, the highlight of Yangon. Shwedagon pagoda described by Somerset Maugham: “The Shwedagon rose superb, glistening with its gold, like a sudden hope in the dark night of the soul of which the mystics write, glistening against the fog and smoke of the thriving city”. This massive bell-shaped stupa rises nearly 100 meters above its hill-top surroundings. Wander through this magnificent structure and its courtyards, stupa, bells, temples and Buddha images and see religious and secular visitors from all parts of the globe. Shwedagon has become the symbol of Myanmar. And visit Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda (72m long Buddha image), Karawaik Hall (designed as a Royal Floating Barge on Royal Lake) for Kodak moment and finally visit the famous shopping center in Yangon; the Scott Market and come back to hotel. In the afternoon, visit China Town area with various local foods, Indian ward with various street sellers and drive to Mawtin Jetty and take a rickshaw for a short trip along the Rangoon River that offers a remarkable atmosphere with spectacular colors for Kodak moment. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Yangon – Putao

Upon arrival at Putao airport you will be met by one of our resident representatives and transferred to your guest house. After a brief fresh up we shall walk to the near by local restaurant. In the afternoon we will take a walk to near by Majaw Lisu village about 2-hour through the paddy field. This village is beautiful having backdrop Mt. Slimatdin with blazing snow over the horizon during sunset. Dinner will be at local restaurant or at your hotel. We shall have a group meeting, introducing among the group members, with local staff and briefing about the trek prior to dinner. Overnight will be at Putao Trekking House. (Basic standard facilities such as proper sleeping facility, warm water and western toilet will be provided)

Day 3: Putao – Machanbaw – Alangga (jeep/trek)

Breakfast and we board on jeep for Nomung village (22 km, approx one hour) partly on paved and gravel road. Machanbaw is located just across Malikha river. Its inhabitants are Rawan, Lisu and Kachin. Our adventure start here as we off the jeep, cross suspension bridge trek on winding road snakes its way through the mountain ranges to Htikha camp (14 km, approx 4 hour). Htikha village situates near Htikha creek. The region is covered with lush vegetation, streams and waterfalls. We cross 240 foot suspension bridge and continue trek to our today destination Alangga village (3 km, approx one hour) situate 1520 feet (460 meter) above sea. Majority of tribe in this village are of Lisu, mixed with some Rawang and Kachin. We have packed lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight at local home with traditional central fire place. (blanket and pillow will be provided if home stay, tent, sleeping bag and mattress will be provided in overnight in the wildness)

Day 4: Alangga – Htangga (trek)

Breakfast and we start trek to Htangga village (19 km, approx 6 hour) passing through the dense forests. This section probably is the most challenging trek of entire journey. Once we cross Namti creek, the road winds steeply upwards with a gorge on the left and a wall of mountain on the right. The higher the altitude, the colder the weather becomes. As we pass through dense forest one usually comes across barking deer, jungle fowls and birds flashing through the woods. We arrive Htangga village situates 2200 feet (670 meters) above sea once we cross 180 foot Htangga suspension bridge. Majority tribe of this village are of Kachin mixed with some Lisu. We have packed lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight at local home.

Day 5: Htangga – Uringga (trek)

Breakfast and we trek on quite smooth road to Uringga (15 km, approx 5 hour) passing through Hprutkha creek. As usual we have packed lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight at local home.

Day 6: Uringga – Babaw (trek)

Breakfast and we head for Babaw (18 km, approx 6 hour). The road become downstream as mountain seems descend gradually. The forest along the way has been pristine one with lively with flora and fauna. After passing through local farms we reach at Gasang creek, cross the creek via a cane bridge to get to day our destination, Babaw village, situate at 1750 feet (520 meters) above sea. There are actually two villages divided by Babaw creek that flows into the Gasang creek. We cross the 170 foot bridge to get to Babaw II where we will be overnight at the guest house situates at confluence of the two creeks. Majority of tribe in this village are of Lisu mixed with Kachin and Rawang. We have packed lunch on the way, dinner and overnight at camp or local home.

Day 7: Babaw – Rapbaw – Kwinmaling (trek)

Breakfast and heading for today destination Kwinmaling (19 km, approx 6 hour) along Gasang creek. Water in the creek usually dark and green with plenty of iced water fish. We have our lunch at Magwiza camp, located 12 km from Babaw. Magwiza is the junction to Naungmon and Hkawnglanghpu or Hkawbude. After passing through Dashehtu village you will reach at Gasang creek which will be crossed through 370 foot suspension bridge which linking Rapbaw I and II. From here continue trek about 6 km along the smooth gravel road to Kwinmaling Village with majority Rawang mixed with Kachin and Lisu tribe. Dinner and overnight at local home with central fire place.

Day 8: Kwinmaling – Nomung (trek)

Breakfast and we keep trek to Nomung (6 km, approx 3 hour) through a 100 foot suspension bridge across the Beekoat creek which leads to the bottom of the mountain. We climb up the shoulder of the steep Beekoat Mountain and descend towards lowland along the creek with green plantations belong to the village. Finally we arrive your final destination Nomung situates at 1800 feet (545 meters) above sea and the last frontier town of Myanmar. Majority of tribe at this village are of Rawang. Lunch and relax rest of the day. We shall enjoy dinner will follow with a series of traditional Lisu and Rawang dance on bonfire and overnight at local home with central fire place.

Day 9: Nomung – Maza (trek)

Breakfast and we change our direction to west to Maza. Our return journey will be different one on mule trek rather then along the dirt road. First (6 km, approx 3 hour) we trek along Kasankha stream, after cross on a suspension bridge the route get higher up (8 km approx 4 hour). We have our packed lunch on the way. We arrive Maza and have dinner. Overnight will be at camp or local home.

Day 10: Maza – Namti (trek)

Breakfast and we turn our direction to South-West towards Namti, situate at 2300 feet (700 meters) above sea (19 km, approx 6 hour). First 6 km will be up hill towards the shoulder of BabuLonhtan peak at 6000 feet (1800 meters) and descend back to Namti, situate at 1160 feet (350 meters) above sea. Once we across Namhti stream the path go up and down the mountain ridge. As usual we have packed lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight at a camp or local home.

Day 11: Namhti – Namsabum (trek)

Breakfast and we keep trek through winding mule trek to Namsabum (15 km, approx 5 hour). Once we cross Htikha creek by a suspension bridge the trek going through up hills and then to downhill all the way to Namsabum Lisu village. We have our packed lunch on the way, dinner and overnight at local home.

Day 12: Namsabum – Salundum – Putao (trek/jeep)

Breakfast and we trek through paddy filed to Salundum (5km, approx 2 hour) on a relatively easy path. Once we cross Malikha river by boat to Htawadum, our jeep await us and take us back to Putao. After checking in at our guesthouse and freshening up, we go out for a farewell dinner with our fellow group members, including our porters, and commemorate the experience that we’ve shared for the past 10 days in this unique part of the world. Overnight at Putao Trekking House.

Day 13: Putao – Yangon

Breakfast and transfer to airport, good bye to our team and board on our onwards departure flight to complete this unique adventure. Fly back to Yangon and visit the rest of the City Sightseeing. Take a good rest at Yangon with good massage.

Day 14: Yangon (Departure)

Today, the tour ends with breakfast at hotel and transfer to Yangon airport for your departure flight.
