Bago Shwemawdaw Pagoda is one of the most famous reclining Buddha image in Myanmar. The Kanbawza Thardi Royal Palace of Bago Dynasty is not far from Yangon to visit. It has been built as the old royal palace of the ancient times.
This full-day tour focuses on some of the major sightseeing of Bago. Start your tour to Bago by Coach; about two hours drive from Yangon. Bago was once the capital of the mighty 16th century Kingdom of Hanthawady, seat of the second Myanmar Empire. On the way, visit the ALLIED WAR CEMETERY in Htauk Kyant. The sightseeing highlights in Bago include the KYAKHAT WAING MONASTERY where over hundreds of Buddhist monks are, by 10:30 a.m, having their (before noon) meal in total silence; the SHWEMAWDAW Pagoda shaped in a Mon style and as old as the Shwe Dagon Pagoda. After lunch, start a short visit to the SHWETHALYAUNG, the most beautiful 55-meter long Reclining Buddha; and the KANBAWZATHADI PALACE, the palace of King Bayintnaung. Return back to Yangon.
