Overview

Kalaw is another hill station, located 1400meters above the sea level and It is 61 km from Inle.Inle Lake, natural and unpolluted, is famous for its scenic beauty and the unique leg-rowing of the Inthas, the native lake dwellers.

Itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVAL – YANGON – UNFORGETTABLE SHWEDAGON

When arrive on Yangon, English speaking guide will pick you up and visit and enjoy the sunset at the Shwedagon Pagoda, world-famous; its golden stupa is the 'heart' of Buddhist Myanmar. The pagoda is believed to be 2,500 years old and the central stupa is surrounded by dozens of intricately decorated buildings and statues. There are always many Myanmar people praying and making offerings at the Shwedagon, and it's a fascinating place to spend time watching the world go by…
Welcome dinner at local restaurant.
Around 10 PM, transfer to Kalaw by Express Bus.
Overnight on Coach.

DAY 2: KALAW – NANTAIN – YAY KHANUNGTOA – PATTUPAUK

Early morning arrive on Kalaw, have a breakfast at local restaurant and direct transfer to Kalaw Trekking House.
At 8 O’clock and take taxi for one hour to Nantain for (1) hr.
- Visit Nantain market about half an hour and start the trek from there.
- Walk up and down along the small path for one hour (3) km to Letpanpin, a Pa O Village.
- Passing through some chili farm, sesame field and rice growing.
- Continue one more hour to second Pa Oo Village called Yay Khanungtoe also (3) km.
Lunch in Yay Khanungtoe Village or at the monastery.
After lunch keep on the trek to Pattupauk village and pass by the spring and a river. (It is good for swimming in hot season.)
You will get to Pattupauk after walking through the rice terraces and Potato field for two hours about (6km). The trail goes up and down between 80 and 100m with beautiful landscape.
When we get to pattupauk early, we can go and visit monastery and walk around.
Look for a sunset place and then dinner and overnight at a family house in the village.
*** One day (1) Taxi for (1) hours, walking time is only (4) hours and about (10) km

DAY 3: PATTUPAUK – KYAUKSU – MYAY PHYU – TAUNGBOGYI – INLE LAKE

Leave from Pattu at 7AM after breakfast.
Walk slowly uphill for one and half hours (4km) to KyaukSu, another Pa O village about 200m higher than Pattu.
From KyaukSu take a small path to Myay Phyu Village for one and half hours (5km) up and down with nice view of Inle Lake.
Have a tea break and visit the village for a few minutes.
Then continue he trip downhill about 300m lower for (2) hours to TaungBoGyi, and Innthar Village at western shore of Inle Lake.
Lunch at a family house in TaungBoGyi Village.
After lunch take the boat to Hotel in Inle or to Nyaungshwe for one hour and half.
Arrive to the hotel at 3PM.
*** One Day (2) Walking time is only (5)hours and 15 km. Kyauk Su is about 1400m, Myay Phyu is about 1200m and Taungbogyi is 900m above sea level.

DAY 4: INLE LAKE – EXPLORE LAKE SURROUNDING – YANGON

Breakfast at Hotel. Start visit to Ywama village, one of Inle Lake’s most attractive villages. Watch plenty of floating gardens, where fruit, flowers and mainly vegetables are grown. The 5-day rotational market day in the Inle Lake area has become very popular.
Continue by boat to visit Nga Phe Kyaung, a monastery famous for its extensive collection of Buddha images made of different materials, and in various styles and sizes.
Next, visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the holiest religious site in southern Shan State. Its five uniquely shaped, gilded, but relatively small images are carried around the lake by boat during the annual Inle Boat Procession (usually in the period September / October).
Lunch at local restaurant.
Afternoon, stop at several workshops on and around the lake such as a blacksmith and a cheroot (Burmese cigar)-making workshop.
Finally, at Inn Paw Khon, visit one of the many silk & lotus weaving workshops, which produce on wooden hand looms high-quality and colourful textiles, sought after by many, even as far as Yangon and Mandalay.
After that, back to Nyaung Shwe and direct transfer Yangon by Express Bus.
Dinner on the way and Overnight on Coach.

DAY 5: YANGON – DEPARTURE

Early arrive on Yangon and have a breakfast at Local Teashop.
At the convenience time, transfer to Yangon International Airport for departure flight.
(If your flight is morning flight, you do not need to take any Day used hotel or car service for sightseeing. If not, you need to take Day Used hotel or car service for sightseeing and that cost will include as Optional)
